Press Release

L.A.D.S.  launch Spring Production 2005 with “Table Manners” by Alan Ayckbourn.

This play is part of the trilogy the Norman Conquests all set in the house Annie shares with her mother.  Annie is planning a “dirty weekend” away, but where to and who with?  This is the background to all three plays.  Each has a different setting within  the house. “Table Manners” takes place in the dining room, in “Living Together” the scene is set in the living room and the garden for “Round and Round the Garden”.  The audience is therefore watching events unfolding simultaneously with those seen in another set. Each play is complete in itself and emphasises different aspects of the relationships between  six members of a family .

LADS have chosen  “Table Manners” because it is Ayckbourn at his best with an ingenious scenario and witty dialogue to keep the audience laughing throughout. We know we are on to a winner having already achieved great success with “Round and Round the Garden”. The cast includes some well known faces on the Longsdon stage, Suzanne Sillitoe, Gordon Carpenter, Yvonne and Mick Nadin, new comer Tessa Abberley and NSDA 2004 Best Actor Glen Naden as Norman .

The production runs from 16th to 19th March at Longsdon Memorial Hall at 7.30p.m. each evening.   There will be a licensed bar and refreshments to complete a superb evening’s entertainment.  There are full facilities in place for the disabled with easy access, a disabled toilet and hearing loop. Tickets £4 Wednesday and concessions all week and £5 Thursday, Friday and Saturday can be booked through our web site www.longsdonlads.org.uk  or from our usual outlets, Picture Book, Stanley Street, Leek, The Wheel Inn Longsdon and Ladderedge News and Stores or by phoning 01538373212.
