Mr. Edward Evans, a past President of the society, sadly passed away on the 20th December 2001 at the age of 87.

He had a long career in film, television and theatre and was probably best known for his starring role as Bob Grove in the 1950s BBC series The Grove Family.  The series has been described as the first adult soap on the BBC. He also played the part of Lionel Petty in Coronation Street in the 1960s. Some of his other roles included appearances in Dr Who and Dads Army.  For a full list of Edward's performances please click the link on the left.  This links to an external website at The Encyclopedia of Fantastic Film and Television

He had been in office in the society since 1982 and we are proud to have been associated with such an illustrious figure from the professional stage.
